The most important thing you need to bring is your identification card. On the first day, you won’t yet need a computer, but if you wish, you can bring it or other note-taking tools. We also recommend bringing some form of payment, for example, for visits to cafes.
For those attending the daytime program, you should arrive at Microkatu campus (Microkatu 1, 70210 Kuopio). The gathering will take place in the A-wing lobby of the building. You can access the lobby from both the Microkatu and Prisma sides. At both entrances, you’ll be greeted by tutors dressed in pink who will guide you to the correct class. Evening program students will meet through Teams online.
On the first day, important information about starting your studies will be covered. You’ll also get acquainted with the campus and enjoy a student-priced lunch at the Antell Round restaurant on campus. There is also a cafeteria on campus where you can buy beverages and snacks.
You’ll have the chance to meet your class tutors. Remember, they are here specifically for you! They are happy to assist you with any questions you might have and guide you through the beginning of your studies, so don’t hesitate to ask!
You can identify tutors and board members by their pink overalls. You can also differentiate them as tutors wear pink shirts and board members wear black shirts. Feel free to approach them confidently if you need help on campus!
After the first orientation day, the established tradition of the hanging out evening takes place at Valkeisenlampi near the center of Kuopio. During the evening, you’ll have the opportunity to get to know and bond with your classmates and tutors. The event also includes students starting in other fields. You’ll receive more information about the evening from your tutors on your first day.
